Description
In this third volume of African animal tales, written by Betty Misheiker and illustrated by Ilona Suschitzky, Mafuta, the friendliest and kindest baby Hippo in the Game Park, longs to befriend the baby Kudu and Impala, but in return they reject his friendly approaches and bully him. Mafuta is determined not to allow their rudeness to get to him and in the end it is Mafuta who saves them proving that he is not only brave, loyal and responsible, but that it doesn't matter what one looks like on the outside, it is how you behave that really counts.
About the Author
Betty Misheiker has been writing stories and songs for children since the 1950's. Her work has been made into films as well as having been broadcast on both television and radio and performed world-wide in professional theatres as well as by children in nursery and junior schools. This is the third volume of her African animal tales series and it is the first time that this particular story has been published in book form in English. The charming and imaginative illustrations that capture the mood of the baby animals in the game parks in South Africa, are by Ilona Suschitzky, Betty Misheiker's daughter.
