Writing Workshop with Author Katie Williams

We can't wait to meet Katie Williams- her new novel looks incredibly compelling for Young Adults! Join us for a very special writing workshop lead by Katie! A pizza party will follow!

The love note passed in class, the burn book entry, that Mother’s Day card—so often we’re asked to capture our feelings for someone in writing. But it’s not easy! Become an expert of your pen, whether it be poison or purple, with local author Katie Williams. Come to The Reading Bug on Tuesday, August 10 at 6:30pm to listen to Katie read a selection from her debut novel, The Space Between Trees, and then join in a workshop to create your own poem for someone in your life worth writing about!

Recommended for ages 9+

Katie Williams was born and raised in mid-Michigan and earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the Michener Center for Writers at University of Texas. She currently lives, writes, and teaches in San Francisco. You can find Katie's short stories in such publications as The Atlantic, Best American Fantasy 3, and others. The Space Between Trees is her first novel.
